Controls with different jobs

End the interaction first. Then choose report, block, or both.

Blocking protects your direct access. Reporting provides information for a product review. They can work together, but neither control requires you to stay in a harmful conversation to collect more evidence.

EndStop the live interaction immediately
BlockRestrict direct contact from that profile
ReportSend behavior context for review
01

Choose the control

Block for access. Report for review.

Use block when you do not want the profile to contact or appear in the same way again. Use report when behavior may violate product rules or create risk for other people.

In serious situations, both can be appropriate. End the call before navigating additional screens. Your safety does not depend on producing a perfect case while the interaction is active.

  • →End live contact before taking other steps
  • →Block when continued access is unwanted
  • →Report behavior, not ordinary rejection or disagreement
02

Make a useful report

Describe what happened without creating new exposure.

Choose the closest category, describe the behavior in plain language, and include the approximate interaction context if the product asks. Focus on what was said or done rather than conclusions about identity or motive.

Do not upload passwords, payment instruments, full identity documents, or intimate material unless an authorized, secure path specifically requires it. For immediate danger, use local emergency resources rather than waiting for a website review.

  • →State the behavior and where it occurred
  • →Keep sensitive evidence to the minimum necessary
  • →Separate emergency action from platform reporting

Action order

A safer sequence after a bad interaction

The sequence keeps protection ahead of explanation.

  1. 01

End the call or stop responding.

  2. 02

Block direct contact if continued access is unwanted.

  3. 03

Report the behavior using the nearest accurate category.

  4. 04

Preserve only lawful, necessary context without recirculating harmful material.

  5. 05

Secure affected accounts or payment methods if you disclosed something.

  6. 06

Use local emergency or specialist resources for immediate danger or extortion.

Clear answers

Using the controls

Should I report every person I do not want to talk to?

No. Ending a call is enough for an ordinary mismatch. Report behavior that may violate product rules or create risk.

Does a report automatically block the profile?

Do not assume it does. Use the visible block control separately when you need to stop direct access.

Will I be told exactly what happened to the other account?

Not necessarily. Privacy, safety, and process constraints may limit what can be shared about another account.

Protection comes first

You do not need to remain available to someone you blocked.

End contact, use the appropriate control, and avoid reopening the interaction to seek closure.
