Device permission guide

Get the right camera and microphone working before the call begins.

Video problems often come from a blocked permission, the wrong input device, another app holding the camera, or a browser setting that changed. Work through the layers in order instead of tapping every control at once.

Permission path

Check the browser before reinstalling or replacing anything.

Open the site permission panel near the address bar and confirm that camera and microphone access are allowed for MicoCam. Reload the video screen after changing permission so the page can request the devices again.

If access is still blocked, open the operating-system privacy settings. The browser itself may lack permission even when the site setting appears correct. Close other apps that may be using the camera exclusively.

  • →Allow access for the current MicoCam origin
  • →Reload after changing a permission
  • →Quit conference or recording apps that may hold the device

Quality check

A working device can still be the wrong device.

Laptops with docks, headphones, virtual cameras, and external microphones often expose several inputs. Use the product or browser selector to choose the intended source, then speak and move to confirm the preview responds.

If audio echoes, use headphones or reduce speaker volume. If the picture is dark, move light in front of you before increasing software brightness. Keep private screens and identifying objects outside the frame.

  • →Select the actual camera instead of the first device name
  • →Watch the audio level while speaking at normal volume
  • →Judge framing from the product preview

Troubleshooting order

Work from access to quality

This order avoids unnecessary resets and lost settings.

  1. 01

Confirm the camera has a physical shutter or switch in the open position.

  2. 02

Allow camera and microphone for the MicoCam site in the browser.

  3. 03

Allow the browser in operating-system privacy settings.

  4. 04

Close other camera or recording applications.

  5. 05

Select the intended devices and reload the video screen.

  6. 06

Test light, framing, echo, and microphone level in the preview.

Clear answers

Device-permission fixes

Why is permission allowed but the camera still blank?

Another app may hold the camera, the operating system may block the browser, a physical shutter may be closed, or the wrong device may be selected.

Why does the browser ask again?

Permission can be temporary, cleared by browser settings, or requested for a different origin or device context.

Can I revoke access after a call?

Yes. Use the browser site controls or operating-system settings. Video will require permission again when you return.

Devices are ready

Use the preview as the final check.

Once access, device choice, light, and audio are correct, return your attention to the conversation.
