Specific, not absolute

Privacy begins with knowing what each layer can—and cannot—protect.

A one-on-one call format, browser permission, account setting, and data policy are different things. This guide separates them so you can make practical choices without relying on vague promises.

Permissions and format

Camera access is not the same as conversation privacy.

Your browser or operating system controls whether MicoCam can access a camera or microphone. You can review or revoke those permissions, but doing so may prevent video features from working until access is granted again.

One-on-one means two participants in the product session. It does not guarantee that the other person cannot capture the screen, use another device, or repeat information you shared.

  • →Grant only the permissions needed for the feature you chose
  • →Review the browser and operating-system settings when access persists
  • →Keep highly sensitive information off camera and out of chat
02

Personal disclosure

The strongest privacy choice is often not revealing the detail.

Backgrounds, notifications, usernames, stories, and repeated routines can identify a person even without a full legal name. Use neutral surroundings and delay precise details until trust has been established over time.

If you need formal information about data categories, retention, access, deletion, or legal bases, use the current privacy-policy and account-data paths. This educational page does not replace those terms.

  • →Hide addresses, documents, and notification previews
  • →Use separate contact details when appropriate and lawful
  • →Ask support for account-specific rights or deletion paths

Privacy review

Four questions before sharing

Pause long enough to separate convenience from necessity.

  1. 01

Does this feature actually need the permission or detail it is requesting?

  2. 02

Could the camera frame expose an address, document, screen, or another person?

  3. 03

Would I be comfortable if the recipient retained this information?

  4. 04

Is there a formal support or account path better suited to this request?

Clear answers

Privacy terms, separated

Does one-on-one mean no one can record the call?

No. It describes the session format, not the behavior or devices of the other participant.

Can I revoke camera permission?

Yes, through browser or operating-system settings. Video features may stop working until permission is granted again.

Where do I make a data request?

Use the current account, data, or support path for the type of request you need. Do not send passwords or sensitive documents through an unrelated channel.

Share with purpose

A permission can be revoked. A revealed detail cannot always be taken back.

Use the least access and least disclosure needed for the conversation you actually want.
